Stroke

Having diabetes can put you at risk for more serious health problems, such as a stroke. But the good news is, diabetes is a risk factor of stroke you can control by managing and improving your diabetes condition.

The place to start is by drinking alcohol in moderation, being physically active, quitting smoking if you smoke, managing your stress levels, and eating healthier to lose excess weight.

You should also get your blood pressure and blood sugar levels checked regularly, and take your diabetes medication properly if they've been prescribed to you.

You can also look out for warning signs of stroke so that you can recognize the onset of one, and remember that a stroke is a medical emergency and to call for help immediately.
